Minor HTC Thunderbolt Update 2.11.605.19 Released – Droid Life
Wednesday 18th of April 2012
A small HTC Thunderbolt update has been released as 2.11.605.19 ahead of an official push if anyone is interested in flashing it. This is a full RUU and can be used by everyone, not just rooted users. If you have unlocked your Tbolt using HTC’s bootloader tool, you will apparently have to relock before flashing this (that sounds fun). The update again, is minor. It makes the phone a bit more stable, updates some bloatware, and includes a new radio. Download: Thunderbolt_2.11.605.19_PG05IMG.zipInstructions:*I’m assuming this will wipe your phone being a full RUU and all, so be careful.1. After you download the file from above, rename it to “PG05IMG.zip” without the quotes of course.2. Drop the file on the root of your SD card.3. Turn phone off.4. Hold Volume Down + Power to boot into fastboot.5. One the file is detected, follow the onscreen prompts to flash the file.6. When it completes, your phone should reboot. Enjoy.Changelog:Features/EnhancementsCMAS (Commercial Mobile Alert System) support addedIPv6 over eHRPDIssues ResolvedMobile Hotspot d
Download: New Gingerbread Build for the HTC Thunderbolt
Thursday 22nd of September 2011
The folks at Android Police have leaked a Gingerbread build for the HTC Thunderbolt. It’s version 2.11.605.2, but as always we’re unsure as to what’s different between this and any previous leaks. We do know that it keeps users on HTC Sense 2.1, but that was to be expected. This is an unrooted RUU file, meaning rooted users may want to wait until developers of their favorite ROMs incorporate the update. For those who aren’t rooted and want to give it a shot, be sure to download the file here and follow the instructions below.Rename the file to “PG05IMG.zip” (without quotes)Drop it on the root of your SD CardTurn off your deviceHold Volume Down + Power to reboot into the bootloader — the file should automatically be detected and the flashing process will begin.Wait for your device to complete the process and reboot

HTC Thunderbolt Rooted long ago.. Wanting to upgrade to newer OS.
Saturday 14th of September 2013
Hello to anyone still around these parts. I rooted my phone with a mod when my phone was new back in 20011. I've used it ever since (2.3.4) with HTC Sense 2.1, kernel 188.8.131.52-imoseyon-3.4.0GBtest+root@unbuntu #86, Baseband 1.48.00.0817r, 0.01.75.0802w_3 Liquid Gingersense v1.4 Can anyone recommend an updated mod that uses the newer 4.x version of the OS? I've seen unrooted phones using it that seem to run much faster than my rooted phone which was not the case in the past. So I was thinking about backing up my install and then putting something new on to try. I just have no idea where to start after all this time. Which mod to get, which process to use. If it will work with what I have? I use my phone only as a Wifi device using voip software for phone calls with GrooveIP lite & GoogleVoice. It's mostly used for it's 8mp camera, video & audo / chat programs. I use it as a portable movie & music player if it's off the wifi network. Any advice would be great. Thanks!
