Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 - Not Charging - Brand New
Sunday 18th of March 2012
I've been reading through posts on here, but haven't really found anything definitive on why this is happening with these Tablets.... I purchased the 10.1" White, 32gb WIFI Only model about 3.5 weeks ago.. was charging fine via computer USB and Wall Adapter, and about 2 weeks into it, I started noticing the red X on the Battery icon when I was trying to charge the tablet. Standard apps installed, no rooting, no power management apps, nothing (yet.. hadn't gotten that far with it). When I power off the tab, the indicator looks like it's charging, and it is, but if I monitor the battery stats, they are always showing "discharging" and it will take days.. literally 4 - 5 days to get a 56% charge.I returned the tablet to Best Buy last night, they gave me a brand new one.. decided I'd let this one fully charge before trying to use it (I was too excited with my new toy, last time around).. and I noticed that this morning the tab was still 'charging'. I powered the device up and see that it too has the red X on the battery. Battery is finally at 99%, but I cannot get it to ch

hey guys. here is an observation. I bought my samsung galaxy tab 10.1, 3 weeks ago. I have been charging it through the power adapter provided by samsung but added a USB extention so that the cable is a bit longer, as the one provided with samsung is pretty short. I noticed when charging the tablet with the usb extension on takes about 8 hrs straight to charge to 100%. Now i took the extension out and now it takes 6.5hrs. note that both times the tablet was discharged to 3% battery.

So everyone has been talking about the Red X icon that was covering the battery icon. I don't know how it is caused, but I have found multiple ways to stop it.1. Try Multiple outlets2. Turn Auto Brightness on if not already, then go to your (Tablet's) homepage. Shut the tablet off, then plug in the charger.3. Keep plugging and unplugging the charger from the tablet.4. Unplug the USB cable from the port and blow on the end of the USB to remove any dust. This has worked for me, and I hope it works for you too. Please leave a reply saying if it worked or not. Thanks.
Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 not charging - help find cause
Thursday 04th of September 2014
Hi all My Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 stopped charging recently. Cable was plugged in and it's dead. USB cable is fine as have tested that with other devices. Device was bought brand new and only around 5 months old with little use. Unfortunately, I purchased this in another country (US) and where I live (Turkey) the product isn't covered under warranty. To send it off to Samsung to check will cost a fortune. I'm trying to determine what the problem is myself, whether it's the battery that is dead (failed) or if it's the USB port flex cable/socket. Is there any way of checking at all? I've used one of those voltage checking pen things directly on the usb socket and it shows current going through the device when plugged in. Have opened the unit and checked all the cables and none are loose. One thing that's been brought to my attention is that the charger I purchased here could be fake. The original from the box has different plug pins than here to I had to buy another. I was told what I was buying was original and looking at it all looks fine. However, on closer inspection I suspect it may b
HELP!!! Why is my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 not charging?

I purchased my tablet from a previous owner, so it wasn't brand new. I don't think the cable I have is the original charging cable and as for the usb port, I used my old iphone belkin usb port. I experienced the red x on the battery indicator when charging my tablet until one day I decided to used a different usb port (samsung usb port for galaxy 3) and the red x went away and my tablet charged perfectly since then. Now i have encountered another problem, my tablet now indicates that its charging but it's actually not. It discharges. I always powered off my tablet to let it charge and normally would not let it get below 10%. I don't know what's wrong now, I've been going through this for 2 weeks now. I let the tablet completely drain and let it sit on the charger for at least 12 hours and it's only on 1%. Just 2 days ago, I did the hold power button down until the tablet power off on its own and immediately plugged in the charger. The tablet then rebooted itself and showed 36%, but would charge pass that point but continue to discharge. Now it's back to where it was before, on 1% and
