Rooting Issue... E:signature verification failed?
Friday 09th of November 2012
Hey everyone. I am trying to root my fiance's Tab 2 7". I used the steps posted on XDA. I got Clockwork Mod 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich recovery on it with Odin PDA. I added the update to the SD card, and tried to install via apply update from external storage. Then that is when I get trouble. It goes from finding update, to opening update package, and verifying package... the it says in red E:signature verification failed! I then went back in to the dev menu and turned on usb debugging and allow mock locations. And it didn't help. Not sure if the update package is good or if I missed any steps. Any help with this would greatly be appreciated. Thank You,Extreme Wilson

e:signature verification failed error help!!!!
Tuesday 26th of November 2013
I purchased a Galaxy Note 2 from Ebay and when I received it I found out that it was rooted with Jelly Bean and TWRP. I deleted TWRP and now need to install the samsung file. The problem is that Odin doesn't recognize when the phone is attached so I'm trying to do everything via SD card. I tried installing the file via SD card and get e:signature verification failed every time. I have wiped data and cache numerous times. I can't figure out how to turn off the toggle. The only screen that I can get to come up on the phone is:reboot system nowapply update from adbapply update from external storagewipe data/ factory resetwipe cache partitionapply update from cache How do I get past this e:signature verification failed screen? Also, this is the first time I've ever tried anything like this (in case you couldn't tell) so if you could please keep it as simple as possible I will be forever greatful! Thank you!

Recovery SD Update Signature Verification Failure
Friday 01st of August 2014
I’m trying to create my own SD update package for the LG L34C, but I can’t get it to work. I’m using the signapk.jar to sign the file and a test key file that came with the signing tool. This is the command I used to sign my zip package: signapk –w publickey.x509[.pem]privatekey.pk8 input.zip output.zip I’m able to sign the package but then when I try to actually flash the phone in recovery mode it fails I attached a picture of the error displayed on the device. Here is the text: Verifying update package... E: footer is wrong E: signature verification failed Installation aborted. I can’t get past the signature verification. I am able to apply an SD update for the LG L40 on this phone without a problem and it looks like they are signed with the same test key. So, I can’t figure out why it’s not working? I think my error is when I signed it. I also used “auto-sign” which uses the signapk.jar utility. Any ideas?
