simple.. How do I reboot my phone?

Thursday 30th of December 2010 / androidforums.com
I know this is probably a dumb question but coming from Blackberry Storm with the simple Battery Pull , I want to know how to reboot the phone? Is pressing the off button and turning back on the same as actually removing the battery?I just got my phone a month ago and it is now Force Closing apps at random, so when I click to open it says it force closes it. ALSO when I pull down the notification bar i used to be able to press a notification and it would go there, now it just closes the notification bar and nothing happens...Help?Any assistance would be most appreciated.

HELP - Stuck on HTC White Screen - Different than other posts

Saturday 08th of September 2012 / droidforums.net
Hi All, something odd happened today. I've been on Global RUU for a couple of weeks already... then I decided to try out Vigor 360 1.1.. everything has been fine (besides the horrendous battery life, but thats besides the point right now) so I bought HD Battery Pro to calibrate the app and keep a good track of my battery... one thing Ive been doing is that once a day I reboot the phone when I open too many apps... so today about 2 hours ago I rebooted the phone, mind u, EVERYTHING was working, I did a simple press power button and reboot. it never booted up, it gets stuck on white HTC screen. now I read many, if not all threads about stuck on white screen, such as this one:Rezound Stuck in white "HTC" screenand all links to different post about it as well. How my case differs from those is that I CANNOT do anything with the phone...I can only boot into fastboot and that is about it, If I try to boot to recovery, it gets stuck on white screen and then the phone turns off.the same exact thing happens if I try to do factory reset If I boot to fastboot, it says on the phone fa

How I sync Outlook (Standalone) to DROID ( or any cloud based email)

Sunday 05th of December 2010 / droidforums.net
I've seen hundreds of pages of people wanting a simple way to sync their droid with home outlook.many people offer bloated software, that doesnt really work, for an exhorbitant fee.this solution DOES use a gmail account for an intermediary transport.I DO use google calendar. I exported my outlook contacts to a CSV and imported into my gmail account.Fast, worked perfect, copied my notes, etc. After hours of searching, I decied the simplest way is probably the easiest.I leave my computer at my office on all the time, and need email pushed to my phone 24/7.you can adjust your sync timetable as needed.I have my pop account also set up on my droid, so if needed i can manually sync to my pop account.I have outlook set to only delete messages after 1 day or manually deleted so in case my office pc crashes/power outage/etc. and i am not at the office to reboot Im not completely out in the cold.I have NOT yet found a way to (for free) sync BACK any contact changes made on my phone or in gmail to outlook. Here's how I did it.First, create a gmail account, and configure outlook to access it us

Newb trying to S-off (research done)

Wednesday 17th of October 2012 / androidforums.com
So i did all my research before attempting this wire trick. I Have unlocked it and flashed meanrom 2.6 rom with relative ease (thanks to some help on here with 4ext) Turns out all the research in the world cant always help lol. Heres the scoop:Installed controlbear on my windows 7 laptop. Adb and fastboot both work so drivers are good. I got controlbear all the way to telling me to do the wire trick now. After several phone reboots i always failed. So i was scared out of my mind when i rebooted to to the juopunutbear screen or my hboot screen. However could not get into recovery mode nor boot my evo up. After some research and playing around i discovered a simple command controlbear.exe -f since i could still get into fastboot, viola! Phone was back up and running. However my 16g sd card comes up as blank, and wont format. whatever i have a 4g i can trash to lol. After getting my phone back up and running, and realzing how simple it is to get back to my phone, i decided to try again.Controlbear will now reboot my phone and go to the juopunutbear screen, than controlbear tells me it ca

Tuesday 04th of June 2013 / android.net
Ok guys, I really need advice. I have been reading up on rooting my zte merit (I know, could become an issue when Im so new to all of this) and I've found a fairly simple rooting method to use in one of my other android forums that I frequently go to, one so easy that even I cant mess u, and Id like to try it.My deal is that I would like to make a complete back up of my systems stock incase, well, something goes terriably wrong. Yet, I dont even know how to go about backing anything up in order to make a system file recovery. My phone does this constant reboot thing, and Im worried that it'll do it while attempting to root my device, causing chaos and more issues than Id like to deal with. Can someone explain to this noob what to do and how Im to do it? Please????phones a zte merit z990g.Thank you in advance!

How do you end a call??

Monday 18th of August 2014 / androidforums.com
I've had my phone about a month and am still struggling with it. I'm having the problem where you have to take the battery out to reboot it. But another annoying problem is that I'm having a miserable time ending calls. It seems simple enough in principle - the manual shows the Hang Up icon, and you just press it to end the call, right? Except that when I make a call the screen always goes dark (presumably so that my cheek isn't pressing buttons while I talk), and I can't get the dratted phone screen to come back on. Nor does the manual say what to do.Pressing the screen and buttons randomly seems to cause the screen to come on for brief fractions of a second, long enough to see the Hang Up button but not long enough to press it and have it register. I end up jabbing at any/all buttons in frustration, mostly hitting the power button which does seem to kill the call eventually. But that can't possibly be the right way to do it. So what terribly obvious thing am I missing? (I am NOT a phone type person, though I am a techie in other areas (cryptocurrency mining, etc.). But even I have t

Guide on how to change CSC on Samsung Galaxy S5.

Tuesday 13th of January 2015 / forums.androidcentral.com
I had an issue with changing my CSC on the Samsung Galaxy S5. I looked all over the net, and nothing really worked - the advice people gave was ridiculous and also useless - such as rooting, using kies etc. I eventually figured it out through Trial and Error combined with information online in various places it's actually pretty simple. 1. Run and configure Odin. Do NOT check “Re-Partition” and “Auto Reboot” check boxes.2. Load the stock firmware in the PDA button.3. Set the phone in download mode (Volume Down+Home+Power button). Then connect the phone in your computer.4. Hit the “Start” button and then wait.5. Once the flashing successfully completed. Do NOT let it reboot into the normal mode.6. Reboot into recovery mode (Volume Up+Home+Power button).7. See if it’s applying the CSC file then wait until it finishes and reboot.8. If you do not see the CSC installation, instead choose the “Wipe data/Factory reset”. Then repeat flashing the stock firmware. You may then achieved the CSC code flashing the stock firmware on the second attempt.10. Confirm the CSC code by u
