my nook tablet stopped working last night while I was on the

Saturday 11th of August 2012 / justanswer.com
my nook tablet stopped working last night while I was on the internet. The screen appeared to be powered up although it was dark (just not black). I put it aside and went to bed and now it will not respond at all. l have tried to rest it by holding the power button down for 30 sec to 2 min, with no response. right now it is on the charger and I can try again later just in case the battery is completely dead any help will be appreciatedAlready Tried: holding the power button down for a soft restart holding power button and n button at the same time for a hard reboot.

Sleep mode on Nook Tablet - not working?

Tuesday 29th of November 2011 / androidtablets.net
The sleep mode on my daughter's NT was working up until this past weekend... when it was working, you'd hit the power button for about 1-2 secs, and the screen would go blank into sleep mode (not turned off), and you'd have to hit the Nook button to get back to the password prompt. Now, when we hit the power button for 1-2 secs, the screen would go blank, but then the password keypad would pop right back up after about 5 secs and stay on. Sleep mode does not seem to be functional anymore. We've played with the settings (power-save, screen display goes off after 2 mins which is the minimum), with no results. My theories, next steps:??- I am wondering if this coincidentally happened after I installed the GO LAUNCHER and started to d/l from the Amazon apps store? Could've this changed anything?- I was thinking of looking up how to reset the NT back to factory default... but what happens to a couple of games she d/l and paid for from B&N?- I've read here how B&N is offering tech support in their stores? I'll consider bringing it in this by the weekend if I can't get it fixed.- Cou

Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet: Not quite as open as we thought

Thursday 17th of November 2011 / androidtablets.net
By James Kendrick | November 17, 2011, 4:25am PST Summary: Amazon and Barnes & Noble want you to buy only their content on the Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet respectively, and new owners are finding out the companies are serious about that. Both Amazon and Barnes & Noble made it clear at the respective launch events for the Kindle Fire and the Nook Tablet that the two tablets were aimed at selling you content. While the tech-savvy crowd quickly determined that as tablets they could be used for content from outside sources, the reality is just settling in that outside content may not be as welcome as first thought. Before the two tablets were in owners’ hands, I reported that I didn’t think either company would want their tablet to be open for general usage. Whether they would lock them down to prevent hacking, or require you to buy content only from the provider I wasn’t sure. It turns out they are using everything at their disposal to lock buyers into content purchased from the respective company. B&N made a big deal about the internal memory on the Nook T

on/off button not working

Wednesday 18th of August 2010 / droidforums.net
anyone else experienced this?now to turn on the phone i have to slide the phone open instead of hitting the on/off button at the top then enter my screen password - not so much a pain to turn on but each time i want to put the phone into sleep mode again i have to tweak the screen timeout mode to 15 seconds or change that back if i want to use the phone for extended periods as otherwise it goes back into sleep mode.i took it back to the verizon store but the only thing they could offer was a downgrade to two POS smartphones, its not a big deal but can get annoying if i want to throw it into my bag/pocket etc i have to go back and change the screen timeout to 15 seconds and then stand and wait for the 15 seconds until it sleeps so it wont be butt dialing anyone when in my pocketsince verizon is not helping is there a security app or something which will give me a one click button to send my phone into sleep mode - that is the most annoying part of the button not working - i can deal with the sliding to turn it on (id rather not but what can i do) but waiting for it to sleep is driving

WiFi on Asus ME173X Tablet not working - "Avoided Poor Internet Connection"

Tuesday 11th of November 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
Hi, WiFi on this tablet has been working fine for almost a year and just stopped the other day. Symptoms are:a long delay whilst "obtaining IP address" and then the error message "avoided poor internet connection". I have done some research and see other people who have suffered the same problem. I have also tried some of the workarounds (given that people believe this is a DHCP problem with the tablet): On my home router I reserved a static IP for my Tablet MAC Address and then configured that IP Address on the Tablet for my home Wifi Network and it connects and works fine. So to me this enforces the theory that there is a problem with the DHCP process on the tablet. I see other people have suggested clearing out the DHCP settings in the following directory:data/misc/dhcp ......problem is I cant find that directory on my tablet. Just by the way I did raise a Tech Support Case with Asus and they were pretty useless, all they said to me was to conduct some basic tests like switching on and off Wifi etc, they obviously didn't read my support request where I told the
