!Sorry! The Application Launcher (process com.android.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly.

Monday 27th of December 2010 / androidforums.com
Without a lot of back story I was put in a situation where I had to pull the battery to reboot the phone. After pulling the battery and restarting every time I unlock it to the desktop I get the message listed in the title. The only option is to force close. I've read some online about similar messages and it was suggested that a hard reset was the only solution. Are there any other options? I cannot get to the settings because the error comes up within a few seconds of the desktop loading. Thanks for any advice.

Sorry! The Application Launcher (process com.android.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly

Tuesday 09th of August 2011 / androidforums.com
This just started happening randomly and I can't figure out how to solve it... it has rendered my phone unusable. I've read some stuff about this on the forums and none of the solutions have worked.I didn't drop or anything, it just started happening - got the first crash and now it just keeps showing this message (and every other bg thing that loads up crashes too) every time I turn it on.Any solutions?

No home screen launcher!

Wednesday 26th of October 2011 / androidforums.com
I decided to give the Gingerbreak file another shot to see if I could root my Samsung Epic 4G and now I don't seem to have a home screen launcher. I rebooted my phone and everything seems fine. I see the status bar and can see the phone is going through its startup process. When I go to slide the button to get to my home screen it's all black and then I get this force close message; "Sorry! The application TwLauncher (process com.sec.android.app.twlauncher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." and I have a force close button. I hit that and it just keeps giving me that message. I can still see the status bar with the time, battery, cell bars etc. and I can even click on it and go into the status menu. From there I am able to go into the "Lookout" app but as soon as I try to return to the home screen I keep getting the force close message.Did this soft brick my phone and what can I do to get it working again if I can. I had been using Go Launcher EX and not the stock launcher but it seems like it wiped out all of my launcher apps. Although I can't see anyth

I have downloaded a ton of apps since I got the N1, and I keep having a recurring problem.I keep getting a error popup saying: Sorry! The application Launcher(process com.android.launcher2) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Is there anyway to find out which apps are causing this? The problem started when I downloaded a bunch of apps, and the more apps i download, the worse it gets.I know that a factory reset would fix this issue, but i dont really want to redownload all my apps and stuff.Anyone else having this problem?

Root OS Crash Problems

Monday 01st of November 2010 / androidforums.com
So I've decided to try to Root for first time. At first it all worked amazingly. I used the:DJDroid_v1.6.zip OS and32.48.00.32U_5.11.05.14.zip radio fileA day later, I try to use my phone, swipe down, and get 100 messages saying:"Sorry! The application com.android.phone has stopped working unexpectedly. Please try again." or "Sorry! The application HTC Sense (process com.htc.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."I click: Force close, or Report, and another 100 messages pop up.In order to get out of this, I have to take out the battery. The only way for me to make the phone usable again is to re-flash the OS (Good thing i kept all the files on the SD card). I've had to do this 5x in the past 3 days. I'm wondering if it's just the rom I used, or if I have a virus or something (i assume they exist for the android OS). I haven't formatted my SD card even the first time that I rooted. Think that could be an issue?

Problem with AVDs in Eclipse ADT

Friday 05th of September 2014 / androidforums.com
I am having a problem creating a useable AVD in Eclipse. I am running JDK 1.7, Eclipse Juno with ADT 23.0.2. This is running on a Windows 7 machine.I can create an AVD fine, but when I run it (and I have tried many variations of the device definition - they all work the same way), it load the emulator and on start-up an error message appears the initial ANDROID startup screen. The error is the following:"Sorry! The application Launcher (process com.android.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.FORCE CLOSE"When I choose the "Force Close" button, the splash screen disappears and the home screen shows as expected - except that the screen of the emulator is turned landscape! (the hardware buttons are in portrait, it is just the screen that is landscape. As I mentioned, this happens with all different AVDs that I have created. I haven't even tried to run any apps yet, just at the initial point of setting up my environment where I am trying to create a worlable DVD.
