TBpPhone wont receive/send calls but internet works
Monday 02nd of July 2012
My HTC Thunderbolt one day decided to not send or receive phone calls but i am able to use the internet. Also, i am not able to send out SMS with a error message stating, "Would you like to send when digital service is available?" but i am able to receive SMS txt messages. When i do call my phone, it either go straight to voice mail or it rings to voice mail depending on the day i try. I took it to verizon and they changed out my SIM card and my phone still did not work. I dont know whats causing my phone issues. Is it possible to fix it internally?
Sprint S3 wont receive voice calls after JB update
Monday 19th of November 2012
So my wifes S3 was working fine until they pushed JB a few weeks ago. Then she could no longer receive voice calls. She CAN call out fine though. And she can send and receive texts. When you call her number it never rings on her end.. If I call, i hear it ring 4/5 times, and then it goes to voice mail. There are no error codes that come up on her phone at all. When she took it to the sprint store, they said it was because of the towers down from the storm. But my phone (S2 - ICS) works fine as do my kids phones. I have done a factory reset with no luck as it still does the same thing. I am at a loss. Any ides from people out there? I would think the radio part was off, but she makes calls fine. Is it possible for her to be dropped from the sprint system for recieve calls only?
Voice dialing is terrible after JB update
Thursday 04th of April 2013
I drive for a living, and hands free dialing is a must.with ICS the Voice dialing using a bluetooth headset worked pretty well. After the JB update.. its TERRIBLE.. It's slow to activate, slow to listen. And most times it gets the wrong name, or cant seem to understand the difference between HOME, MOBILE, WORK.. after you say the name. etc.It picks the wrong contact to dial at least 70% of the time.It seems to be specific names it gets wrong.. Some of them it gets right all the time.. .But the ones it confuses are not even similar sounding... What the hell were they thinking?? any why is it worse with the newer OS.Should I root, and put a custom ROM on it? I know I can't go back to ICS.GOD I wished I had not done this update... It sucks. Thanks for any help or suggestions.
Use Your Nexus 7 To Make And Receive Voice Calls Through Google Voice
Wednesday 15th of August 2012
XDA member bongostl has posted a step-by-step guide for modifying your Nexus 7, or any tablet for that matter, to enable outgoing and incoming calls through Google Voice. This requires the editing of system files, so your tablet needs to be rooted. What this method does is make the tablet think it’s voice capable, which allows dialer app voice+ to connect through Google Voice and place a call.Incoming calls will be handled by any SIP app, such as CSipSimple, which requires you to also set up a call number and routing using other online services such as callcentric an…Continue Reading HereUse Your Nexus 7 To Make And Receive Voice Calls Through Google VoiceEd Caggiani – talkandroid.com

Screen goes blank on phone calls after JB update and screen repair
Friday 26th of April 2013
I recently sent my phone out via Radio Shack (Werx) to get the screen repaired. When it came back, I also updated my phone to JB. Since then, I have a real problem with the screen going blank during phone calls. Nothing I press brings the screen back. If I make a call and it goes to voice mail, the only way to hangup is to pull out the battery. And if someone calls me, I have to wait for them to hang up before I can do anything on the phone. A partial workaround is to set the phone to always show the numeric keypad for all outgoing calls. But it is still a problem for incoming calls. This is really getting in my way. Any suggestions on what to do? Oh, and I downloaded AndroSensor and it says my Proximity Sensor is 1.2 inches, all the time. I have a Droid Bionic on Verizon.

Lost ability to make/receive phone calls after flashing Cyanogenmod
Wednesday 24th of July 2013
So I rooted my phone and everything worked great on the stock ROM. I made a backup in Clockworkmod and then proceeded to flash Cyanogenmod 10.1.2 Stable. That took just fine but I noticed that I no longer had the ability to make or receive phone calls. Text messages and data still worked, I just couldn't do voice calls. I flashed back to my stock recovery ROM thinking Cyanogenmod was the issue but the problem didn't go away. After some research I discovered that somehow my IMEI had been deleted. It came up as a '0' when I went to the "Status" menu in "About phone". Unfortunately, I didn't make a backup of my EFS folder beforehand (Noob mistake). However, I was able to restore my IMEI by following the directions in this link:***won't let me link in my first post***So now I have the IMEI number back in the "Status" menu but my phone still can't call out or receive phone calls. I still notifies me that I have voicemails too, I just can't check them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Galaxy S3 wont read sim card after firmware update
Wednesday 05th of March 2014
Hi I have completed a firmware update and now the phone won't recognise the sim card. I have tried my sim card in another phone & ok. Also tried another sim in my phone & it won't recognise it. Gone through settings and get a message ;Insert SIM card to access network services.' Has anyone got any solutions to resolve this issue as I do not want to revert to factory settings (unless I really have to). Thanks in advance.
