How to Move Apps to the SD Card on Android Froyo the Easy Way with SDMove
Thursday 05th of August 2010
If you finally have gotten your much-awaited OTA Froyo update, after obsessively having pressed the “Check now” button for a couple of hours (at least that’s what I did), there are a couple of things to keep in mind before you start using the new Move to SD feature. We recently did a tutorial on how to make Android install apps to the memory card by default, and we also discussed that some apps shouldn’t be installed to the external storage. Because when you mount your phone as a disk drive, the Android system will no longer have access to software installed on the memory card.If you have apps on the SD card that are loaded automatically when you start your phone, they will also be launched later than applications located on the internal storage, since it will take a while for the card to be ready: ever noticed that “Preparing SD card” message in the notification bar? One would think that Android should make sure that the SD is available before giving you access to the UI, like most other mobile platforms, but that’s not how it’s currently done. This is esp

How do I download to my sd card on a Sylvania Sytabex7-2?
Tuesday 27th of March 2012
I have a 2g sd card installed on my son's Sylvania Sytabex7-2 Express Plus tablet. However, when I attempt to download anything from the Android App store, it tells me that my sd card is full. When I look at the contents of the sd card, it is NOT full and still has full capacity available. The user guide for this tablet is totally useless. I'm guessing the tablet has some type of internal memory that is full and it's not reading the actual sd card, but have no idea how to remedy this. Or is it possible to put the android app store on my pc and download the apps to a flashdrive then move them to the sd card in the tablet? Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. I am completely frustrated.Thank you in advance.
with moving Apps to the SD card on a Samsung galaxy 551
Friday 29th of March 2013
I have a Samsung galaxy 551 GTI5510M Android version 2.2.2 I just got the thing a few months back. When I want to do something as simple download new apps the phone it gets full and I can't do anymore yesterday I bought a 32GB SD card for it and again I'm still full. When i link the phone to the computer (USB cable), windows 7 I get: Removable Disk G. The pictures options (none of which work.) General options (open folder and Use this drive for backup.) The open folder makes me a little nervous because what if I move something I'm not suppose to. The bell tech which I had spoken with said that it was simple drag and drop but what and where.I have no idea how to do this simple task. And also I didn't see my phoneSamsung Galaxy 551 listed anywhere just disk G in my computer. Can someone help as to how I can get my apps on the sd card. Oh and I think I moved one app to the SD card in the applications it has manage apps I went down that list but for almost all the move to SD card was darkened

Moving apps to the SD card on the Samsung Galaxy S4
Tuesday 11th of June 2013
Apps-to-SD support is coming to the Galaxy S4 in a new software update - here's how to use it.Samsung's answer to the controversy over storage space on the Galaxy S4 has been to resurrect an old Android feature -- the ability to move apps to your SD card. By offloading heavier apps to your expandable storage (the S4 supports microSDXC cards up to 64GB) you're able to save precious internal storage for other stuff, like the many apps that can't be moved to the SD card. That's right, just like in the Froyo (Android 2.2) days, developers have to specifically allow you to move apps to the SD card, and some popular apps don't support the feature.Nevertheless, if you're big on gaming, the latest mobile titles can take several hundred megabytes each, and the ability to move these apps to the SD card is a great way to save space. The update to allow apps to be moved to the SD card is rolling out now to unlocked German Galaxy S4s, and other regions and carriers should follow in the weeks ahead. In the meantime, you can check past the break for our video walkthrough

Moving apps and media to sd card on VM LG Optimus F3
Sunday 22nd of December 2013
I have a rooted LG Optimus F3 with Link2SD installed. I have an 8Gig sd card with two partitions...one FAT32 and one EXT4. I've linked all the apps I'm able to to the sd card, with no apparent difference in storage space. I also cannot view the files or partitions in a file manager like AndroZip. I ALSO cannot figure out how to move photos and other media files. Anyone with a clue on how to do this...I'd appreciate the help.
