HELP! "SD card is blank or has unsupported filesystem"?!?!

Monday 13th of February 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
Here's the deal. I had a Droid X for about a year and a half. It was old and beat up and kept doing crazy things on its own, so I bought a lightly used Droid Charge off of one of my friends who had upgraded to a Galaxy Nexus, and she wasn't going to need the Droid Charge anymore. I love the phone. I took my 16GB memory chip out of my Droid X, put it in my new Droid Charge, and everything was fine. I had all of my pictures (1500+), all of my videos, all of my music, and everything was fine. On day 3 of having my new phone and everything being fine, I took my phone out of my jacket pocket (after having not touched it barely at all for about 4 hours, besides to send a few texts) and there was a little icon in my notifications bar that looked like a microSD card with an ! on it. I checked it out and it said "BLANK SD CARD. SD card is blank or has unsupported filesystem" I went to my music: Nothing was there. Same with my pictures and videos. EVERYTHING was gone! So I went to my settings to check out the SD card status, and it seemed to be unmounted (because the option was &quo

SD card is blank or has unsupported filesystem - 16GB

Sunday 27th of January 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Today I bought a 16GB microSD card today to use in my tablet and unfortunately my tablet will not mount it. I get an error of: "SD card is blank or has unsupported filesystem." It then asks to format the card, which I say yes to and it says checking the card, then preparing the card and then it goes back to the original error and the cycle continues. Basically I am unable to get the tablet to see the card. The same card in my laptop works perfectly fine. Any suggestions? THANKS!

Droid 2 SD Card Is Blank Or Corrupted

Saturday 25th of June 2011 / droidforums.net
Hi. All my problems began when I first tried to put mp3s on my phone from my pc. I was doing fine using tubemate and just downloading youtubes as mp3 files but... anyway, I wanted to FINALLY put some mp3s from just my pc to my phone (normally) so I plugged it in to my pc, set it as USB storage and copied some mp3s. I unplugged it, and viola!! SD CARD IS BLANK OR CORRUPTED OR UNKNOWN FILE SYSTEM. what the h ? I thought perhaps I copied them to a bad directory... (though it was the same directory I had already downloaded some tubemate mp3s) I thought I had just done something wrong, so I took it to a verizon store. The guy said the card is unformattable (when u push format it just... does nothing)... yet, when u plug it into a pc, you can still read the file system (at least part of it?) Seems wrong to me. Anyways I didn't have any irreplaceable data on my phone so I did a hard reset there in the store. After like 10 minutes he plugged it into a pc there and copied an mp3 they had up there. Then we unplugged the phone from the pc and the mp3 we copied could be seen in the music player

Help: "SD card is being used as a mass storage device"

Saturday 23rd of March 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I need help with my Samsung Galaxy S2 i1900 guys. I cannot access my gallery and anything associated with it (camera, some apps and etc.). When I attempt to open gallery (and others) I receive a pop up that says "SD card is being used as a mass storage device" I didn't drop it or mess with the settings. This problem just came out of nowhere. More details:- Occasionally I'll get a notification on the scroll down menu that says "USB storage damaged. It may need reformatting."- When I connect it to my computer with the USB, the drive doesn't show up on "My Computer" (it usually does). IT DOES HOWEVER show up on my "Devices and Printers" on the "Control Panel" as a connected device. I already did some researching on Google and found no solution that works. Anyone had this problem before and fixed it? Anyone have any idea how to fix it? I'll reformat or Factory reset if I need to, but I want to see if there are any alternative solutions since I don't want to lose my files. Thanks in advance.

error: SD Card is blank or contains unsupported files

Wednesday 12th of June 2013 / androidforums.com
I have an error message that reads; "SD card is blank or contains unsupported files". I removed the back of my phone and found the SD card out and just laying there. When I click on that message prompt it is asking me to format the sd card.I am assuming now that every picture and video is now stored on the phones memory which is not where I want it to be stored. I go to apps/my files and the path is /storage/emulated/0.Does that path mean these are stored on my phone? I lost my home pc this week also so until it is fixed I cannot load my sd card onto my pc to see what if anything is on it.Can I move all those pics from my phone memory to the sd card? If so just do it through my home pc when I fix it? Or can I move them via the phone?I want to save the files I already set up if possible and just get everything pointing back to the sd card without a bunch of hassle. Also, was I supposed to format the SD card when I first put it into the phone? Thanks for any help.

galaxy s4 sd card is blank or has unsupported filesystem - 32GB

Saturday 13th of September 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
Like so many others, I too am getting the "sd card is blank or has unsupported filesystem" error. I have formatted the card multiple times using both my Galaxy s4 phone and PC... on the PC using both the quick and... not so quick formatting operations. I have successfully written files to the sd card on my PC. That suggests t me that the card was successfully formatted and is capable of being written to. I still get the"sd card is blank or has unsupported filesystem" error when placing the card into my Galaxy s4 phone. Is this phone capable of handling a 32GB card? If so what else could be wrong? Thanks in advance!

My SD card is blank or has unsupported file system, what should I do?

Friday 12th of June 2015 / forums.androidcentral.com
I use a Moto G 2nd gen. I've had it for about two months. I went to transfer photos onto my SD card, and it wasn't registered on my phone. I did the typical on-and-off-again, take-it-out-and-reinsert-it, didn't work. It eventually recognised my SD card but every time I tried to mount it, it would say 'SD card is blank or has unsupported file system'. There was an option to "format your SD card", and I tried it, to no avail. I put the card into my Macbook and ran Disk Utility over it, and it didn't detect any errors. I tried erasing all the data on my SD card (somehow that option was available on my phone and laptop) and that didn't work either. What do I do?
