ZTE Valet - Android Phones - Android Forum - A Community For Android Users and Enthusiasts

/ androidforum.com
Hi,Since I'm new to Androids or any kind of smart phone, I'm not sure whether my questions are 1) specific to the ZTE Valet TracFone and 2) stupid. But I'm a big believer in asking stupid questions, so here goes:1. Any idea how to get my Google calendar to load? Should I buy the Google Calendar App on Play Store?2. I'm confused about when my phone is using data and when it isn't. For example, if I open my Google Calendar (once I figure out how to do that), it must use data to open the calendar. Does it, like, use data once to open the calendar, once again to synch it, once again to view an appointment, once again tocreate a new appointment?3. This is specific to the phone, but it doesn't seem to have a Prepaid menu, so I can't check my minutes and data usage without going to the Tracfone website and asking Tracfone to tell me what my usage is. I want to get an idea for how much data I use doing this or that on the phone.Okay, Those are my questions - thanks for any input!

Tracfone Android Phones

Saturday 23rd of November 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
Tracfone the pay-as-you-go cell phone company now gives us pay-as-you-go Android phones with it's introduction of the Samsung Galaxy Centura and the ZTE Valet a few months ago. You can check YouTube for a comparison of the pros and cons of these two phones. I am pleased with my purchase of the ZTE Valet which runs Android 4.1.1. The Samsung Galaxy Centura runs Android 4.0. I am wondering whether Tracfone will be putting out system updates for these phones. My guess is that these phones won't be updated at all. As I look through the forums here, it seems that system updates come from the cell phone carriers like Sprint, Verizon, etc. If Tracfone followed suit, it probably wouldn't have lead off with the Valet running Android Jellybean while the Galaxy Centura runs only Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Does anyone have any ideas or information? Sent from my Nexus 7 using AC Forums mobile app

Samsung Galaxy Express with Tracfone

Monday 09th of December 2013 / androidforums.com
I have just bought an unlocked galaxy express and was hoping to use it via Tracfone, using there PAYG datacards and transferring my existing number. I cannot get a clear answer from Tracfone, one operator tells me its ok, he'll send a sim and he can transfer the number across, the next guy tells me probably not, he would have to look at the serial number of the phone and thinks I would have to go on NET10.The data cards from tracfone state 'android powered' phones only, hence I assumed it wold be ok (as I was first told before buying the phone)he phone doesn't arrive until next week, anyone out there have the real answer?Al

WRONG time alarm clock app for Android?

Wednesday 04th of June 2014 / androidforums.com
I now have two android phones, a Tracfone Samsung Galaxy Centura and a Verizon prepaid Moto G, and I like both phones, but they both have the same problem: the clock will sometimes be 5 hours off from my local time.I can go into the settings of each phone and get back to the right time with a few seconds of effort, but aside from that minor inconvenience, it makes both of them unreliable as alarm clocks. If the time can shift back and forth 5 hours for some unknown reason, I cannot rely on either one to wake me up in the morning on time. So, unfortunately, I still have to use an old fashioned clock that I plug into the wall outlet to wake me up in the morning at the right time. There are seemingly an endless number of alarm clock apps on Google Play, but so far out of all the ones I have tried, they all rely on my cell phone to figure out the exact time. If my cell phone is off by 5 hours, so are these apps. They're no better than the factory installed alarm clock feature of my cell phone.Does anyone know of an app for androids that will actually NOT rely on my cell phone to tell time?

I'm looking into getting a used Android phone and trying out Tracfone's BYOP service. I've been using Tracfone phones for a long time without any problems. Has anyone tried this, what phone did you use, and does anyone know if the Nexus Galaxy is compatible with this service? Thanks,Wildhog
