Huawei Ideos S7 Android 2.2 Update Package Finally Leaked, Ready
Wednesday 20th of April 2011
A couple of weeks after the Indonesian Android 2.2 update for the Huawei Ideos S7 was reported, the files have been leaked. They have been uploaded here by our members after a rather dramatic ordeal of getting the local service center to release the file. The update does have issues with some S7 variants released in international markets, so heed the warnings in the post carefully. The update brings the improved performance of Android 2.2 and full Adobe Flash support. It has been reported to be at least mostly compatible with the S7-104 variant available at BestBuy, and various international variants similar to the target device. The update may not be without its flaws, and has a regressing g-sensor bug. Since the bug existed in the Android 2.1 firmware with different resultant behavior, the update is not likely to deteriorate user experience. As this is an Android 2.2.2 build, the firmware can be rooted using psneuter only. Huawei had originally targeted the update for March, and had withdrew commitment in most markets during the last week of March.Huawei has not yet provided the ass

How do I check to see if there is an Android update?
HOW DO I CHECK TO SEE IF THERE IS AN ANDROID UPDATE?Maybe you bought your Android handset secondhand. Perhaps you’ve switched devices over time and are returning to your first smartphone. Whatever the case, you want to check to see if there’s a software update available. All this talk about Ice Cream Sandwiches and Jelly Beans is for a reason, right? Each device is a bit different but many of them use the same tactics for software updates. And, if you’ve done it a time or two on one model, you’ll be able to figure it out on others. As you probably have guessed by now, you’ll start by opening up the app tray (usually an icon that looks like small squares) at the bottom of your phone and scroll until you see Settings. In many cases, you’ll scroll to the very bottom of the menu until you see System update, Software update, or About phone. Your phone is designed to periodically check for updates so you may see something that references the last time it searched for an update. It’s possible that you may also see references to firmware, soft

Location of Automatic Update Package?
Saturday 18th of August 2012
I'm running an Epic 4g that's rooted, but otherwise stock. When the latest update came out (late May/early June, I think), it was pushed to my phone. Of course, I can't apply the update from a rooted phone. So, I just hit "Install Later" when the prompt comes up, several times a day.I would like to find the whereabouts of the upgrade package on my phone, and remove it. At the same time, I'd like to try to prevent the update from getting pushed to my phone again. It's taking up space on my phone, and even with most apps moved to my SD card, my internal memory is running low. I suspect the update package is responsible for that. Does anyone know where to find that package?Since I'll be replacing the phone at some point, and because my schedule gets busy, I'm not interested in going to the effort of installing custom ROMs at the moment. So, I'm just hoping for a quick, if just temporary, fix. Thanks for any advice.
Xperia X10 gets update but is not Android 2.1
Monday 05th of July 2010
Sony Ericson announced on June 30th that their popular line of Android Phones, the Xperia, will receive a software update over the air. Many owners of the phone were expecting to have their smartphones upgraded to 2.1 or the ever so hyped Froyo releases. Sony has instead decided to add features to the existing OS, version 1.6. These new features include an update on general performance, speed and responsiveness of messaging tasks and the camera UI. Also, a free backup and restore application was added ensuring that your precious data is never lost. Last but not least, PlayNow™ was made available in certain markets allowing access to premium apps and games. Hopefully Sony Ericson decided to skip the upgarde to 2.1 because they’re planning on go straight to version 2.2. The Xperia X10 is a highly capable smart phone with many of the same specs of the Nexus One. There is no hardware limitation on this phone preventing it from running a more recent release of the Android OS.
Latest Update - Now SD Card Is Damaged
Wednesday 03rd of April 2013
I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. I did the latest update that T-Mobile had for my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and after it rebooted/restarted, it has this error message saying that my SD card is damaged. I haven't done anything to my phone besides that update and now it's showing SD card damaged When I go to write texts or do anything that uses the keyboard, it shows a blank area for the keyboard area for a few seconds then the keyboard will finallly pop up Also in my gallery, it went from a bunch of different folders to like 8 folders. Is there any way this can be fixed? Please help..
