Featured: Samsung Rolls Out Ice Cream Sandwich Update for Galaxy Tab 10.1

Wednesday 01st of August 2012 /
Samsung has reportedly started rolling out ICS update to the Galaxy Tab 10.1. Not just the Galaxy Tab 10.1 will receive the aforementioned update but other tablets that include Galaxy Tab 7 Plus and Galaxy Tab 7.7 will also receive the ICS update as well. We have reports coming in that only the UK and other European Galaxy Tabs have received the update so far and US will soon follow but still you can try your luck.If you happen to own any of the above mentioned tablet then hook up your tab with the PC and fire up KIES to update your tab. You can also try the OTA method but I doubt if the update is available via OTA at the moment. The update package is pretty large, so it will take some time because it will download and then install the update as well.Other tablets that will receive the update in a couple of weeks includeGT-P6210 Galaxy Tab Plus 7.0 WiFi, the GT-P6200 Galaxy Tab Plus 7.0 WiFi + 3G, the GT-P6810 Galaxy Tab 7.7 WiFi, GT-P6800 Galaxy Tab 7.7 WiFi + 3G, the GT-P7310 Galaxy Tab 8.9 WiFi, the GT-P7300 Galaxy Tab 8.9 WiFi + 3G, the GT-P7510 Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi, and lastly t

"Searching for Service" after gingerbread update.

Tuesday 15th of November 2011 /
Alright I decided to start a new thread instead of cluttering up the Odin thread with my issue. You can go back in the Odin thread and read some of the issues I had starting here Anyway here's a run down of what happened. I was running Shabbymod 0.9 w/ Kouma's Kernel and I decided to try out the Gingerbread update released in the Odin thread. Flashed it to my phone, everything seemed to work fine except I had no service. My phone was, and has been since, stuck "Searching for Service". Wifi works, GPS works, 3G and cell do not. Everything else on the phone works fine. I have tried reverting back to stock ed13, ee14, etc. I even tried reverting to stock ed13, taking the ota update via wifi to ee14, then taking the ota update to gingerbread but still have the same problem. I also tried reverting back to the nandroid backup I made prior to starting all this, everything comes back the way it was except I still have no cell service. After spending abou

Android 4.3 Automatic OS Update via 3G

Wednesday 07th of August 2013 /
I have a NEXUS 4 mobile (previously running Android 4.2.2) with a monthly prepaid carrier within australia TPG. Last week I received a notification saying that the new Android OS 4.3 was available to install. It had already been downloaded to my phone via my 3G Network using almost all my bandwith for the month 180MB out of my 250MB. I do not have WiFi at home and rely on my 3G data.Looking through the settings on my phone there is nowhere to decide how OS updates are installed onto your phone, there is nothing like way the play store "Update with WIFI only". I was not given an option or even notified that a new update was available, it was simply downloaded to my phone. There is nothing I can do this month but I dont want this happening again as it will be very very expensive when the next android update is released. Im not a fan of Apple but one thing that they do well is ensure that any updates to be installed to your phone require a WiFi connection. I dont even want that, all I want is the ability to select how updates are installed to my phone. Has anyone else had thi

Anyone else with wifi problems with Galaxy Centura?

Monday 04th of November 2013 /
Since I got my Centura from Straight Talk in May it continues to give me a hard time with WIFI........ To the point that I only use the 3G..... and have for the past few months! Seems that it will connect to my home wifi but then the "wifi" thing at the top of the screen, near the battery and digital clock will either remain gray, or sometimes blue, but ALWAYS has an arrow blinking up (as if it's uploading or communicating with the router). I've even tried other wifi routers a home and other locations and get the same thing! I also thought that maybe it's trying to update something or needs to communicate with the internet via wifi (vs. 3G) so I left the wifi on all day/night (and it was connected) but it still acted the same.... WIFI just doesn't seem to work. Anyone else with this problem........ Or anyone with a solution??? I'd love to be able to download apps without worrying about hitting my 2GB Straight Talk monthly limit. Thank you.

I can access my AOL mail via WiFi but cannot sign in over 3G (Android)

Sunday 29th of March 2015 /
I got a new THL 5000 on Friday - activated on Straight Talk. I have had a lot of success and love it so far except for the fact that when I tried to setup my AOL email account through the normal Email "app" client native to the device/Android. It sets up okay , and accesses fine, works fine, but I didn't realize that I did this all via my home WiFi connection. When I turn off WiFi and use the 3G/Mobile data connection, I cannot access my AOL account. It says, "Unable to sign on to [my AOL screen name}" then says "User name or Password incorrect - would you like to update settings?" - but rest assured I have not misspelled my name or password. I have tried completely deleting the account and re-doing it like 3 times but no dice. If I just fire up the WiFi connection it will go through no problem , but not on 3G/Data connection. - HOWEVER, to prove that it's not a total connection problem, I can use the 3G/Data connection regularly like to browse the web or even to use my Gmail account which works fine over the Data connection, it is only the AOL acct: thr
