HTC USB Tether - Internet Sharing
Saturday 05th of June 2010
Hey everyone, so can anyone get USB tether working (when you plug in the USB cable, the last of the 4 options is Internet Sharing). Does this work for anyone? Not working for me...sometimes an error comes on my screen that my powervision username/password is incorrect, but my data on my phone works fine. Just to note, I am NOT talking about the mobile hotspot/wifi sharing feature.
Built-in USB tether: Does it work on Mac?
Thursday 27th of May 2010
We've confirmed that the built-in USB tether included in Sense is working on the EVO and is not blocked by Sprint. Can anyone confirm if this will work on Mac as well? Another thread noted that a driver needed to be installed on Windows before it could see the EVO. Is the same true for Mac? Is there a Mac driver available? I'd really love to be able to use the built-in tether instead of PDANet. And there's no way I'm paying the $30 hotspot fee. I only need to tether to my laptop once or twice a month. Thanks!

USB tethering not working after installing CyanogenMod 7.2 on Samsung Galaxy Ace (GT-5830)
Friday 18th of May 2012
I recently installed CyanogenMod on my Galaxy Ace and now its USB tether option is not working. The phone is detected by my PC only when I check the USB debugging mode. I can tether with external applications like Easy Tether but earlier USB tethering was built in for my phone when I had the Samsung stock firmware. What could be the possible problem?

Wifi or usb tether not working. "limited connection" windows 8
Sunday 22nd of September 2013
Hi, I am trying to tether my zte t760 (telstra touch 2) to my windows 8 laptop. The phone is not rooted but is unlocked using a code and is now on optus. I tether using my other phone fine, with no problems. Also when I tether with the zte and connect to the network using my other phone it is unable to connect to the internet so I assume the problem lies with the zte. I have tried tethering using the android stock method both wifi and usb. Both my laptop finds and connects to but has "limited" access and is unable to connect to the internet. This is also true when I try to use Foxfi. I have tried the obvious, turning everything off and on again, turning data off and on again, making sure the internet works on my phone etc.Look forward to hearing any suggestions, Thanks, Paul
[USB Tether] Kyocera Hydro Vibe
Saturday 12th of July 2014
I love my Hydro Vibe. However, When i need to tether during a ISP black out or on the go with my laptop. I dun believe in getting cheated to pay for HotSpot to be usable, where Data limits maybe the same. I use Virgin Mobile, my last phone was on there list for $15 a month for an extra 1GB of High Speed Data and enabled WiFi HotSpot. I was OK paying this for the extra 1GB of high speed. But this phone is not on the list, and the HotSpot features available for it are different and not worth it I think. But I like having the option for emergencies.I have yet to find a working WiFi Tether for the phone, but I did come across a working USB Tether option which is good enough for me, and kinda like better anyways. Only other thing I ever connect to is my laptop. So I don't need the WiFi tether.~WARNING~Your carrier may not like this, if they find out you use this, they might terminate your service! Not my fault if you get caught for inviolate there Terms of Service! Use at your own risk! Not meant to be used a full time replacement for your Internet!
