Watching browser videos from thunderbolt on tv
Monday 05th of December 2011
Hello, I just had a question about hooking my thunderbolt up to a tv. My 4g is about a million times faster than my home internet, so watching videos on it is a lot better, the downside is the screen is too small to enjoy it. I was wondering if it's possible to hook the thunderbolt up to my tv and see any videos that i'm streaming through the browser on it? I'd like to be able to watch any football games I stream on the big screen.I read some info in different posts on here about dlna using an xbox and an app, but that seems to be only for videos saved on your phone, in my case I'll be watching videos in my browser. Thanks (I could tether my phone to my laptop and hook it up that way, but I don't want to pay for their tether package nor take the chance of using any tether app)
Tethering Without Stopping Wi-Fi?
Monday 04th of March 2013
I apologize if this question has been asked, I did a cursory search of the forums and found nothing. In my apartment, the router is in another room, and it'd be a massive, ugly-looking pain in the ass to run a 100-foot wire from my room to out there. As a result, I've been using wireless routers for my internet, and they haven't been working for crap. I can tether my 4G LTE to my PC and use my Droid internet just fine, but I don't want to do that because of the data cap. I want to tether my Droid and have it connect to my home internet, basically using it as a wireless router to access my home connection, not the Verizon network, and share it with my PC.But if you turn tethering on, it turns Wi-Fi off. What gives? Is there a way to tether my Droid without disabling Wi-Fi so I can use my tethered Droid to pick up my home wireless connection, so I don't have to worry about exceeding the data cap?
Using 4G tether for home Internet?
Wednesday 31st of October 2012
So comcast just doubled my home Internet price, is there any reason I can't cancel comcast and tether my evo's 4G connection to my PC? I'm broke enough without paying comcast's insane prices.
Living abroad - data plan limits, internet challenges
Thursday 09th of May 2013
Hi all - I just joined the forum, so I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong place. I recently moved to Guatemala and will be here for a couple of months. My new apartment doesn't have internet, however I've been able to go online via tethering and use my laptop from home. I have an unlocked t-mobile LG Optimus, and I use a local Movistar SIM card. While using 4G internet from home is problematic due to speed issues, it does allow me to use my laptop from home, which is better than nothing. While I can make local calls/text with my phone, I do not use this often - it's the internet/data that I care about. I bought a prepaid Movistar SIM, and something like $25 bucks gets you 3Gigs of data. My question - how do I get out of this world where I'm tied to "limited" data? I work online, use Skype to talk, googlevoice, download netflix, etc. With these new limits, my lifestyle has been severely hampered! I have been here a week and I've already needed to reload. I just found PDANet, and now I use that to tether, but from what I understand that only hides HOW you are using yo
Need help with off contract plan
Wednesday 26th of June 2013
Hi, I will be off contract with T-Mo in a few days, July 1, 2013. I presently have the unlimited talk/text/Internet plan (with 2 GB high speed Internet allowance) for $79 a month plus taxes. I have a rooted HTC Sensation 4G that I want to keep using for now, I don't want the expense of a new phone and/or contract. With taxes and 2 add-ons (warranty and phone finder) at $4 each, bill coming to $96 a month. I want to shave as much off my bill as possible keeping unlimited talk and text and at least 2 GB high speed Internet, but 3 or 5 GB would be ideal, as I now monitor a home security camera/DVR system with my phone, and I'm not always around wi-fi. Included tethering would be nice, but I know all plans don't have it, and my phone is rooted, so I can tether when I need, which may be once or twice a month, but would rather do it "legally" if included.I know there is a new T-Mo offering called "Go Smart Mobile", but I hear you only have access to T-Mo's towers, no roaming on other networks, and no tethering offered and I hear it doesn't work rooted either. Also that
WIFI TETHER on MetroPCS and maybe T-Mobile and other networks
Wednesday 23rd of July 2014
*******ROOT ACCESS IS NEEDED FOR THIS METHOD*******Hey YallI think I found a way to WIFI TETHER and BYPASS that MetroPCS wifi tether block page without using a user agent switcher thingy! I have no clue if this will work for other MetroPCS phones or for people on T-Mobile/ other networks or for CDMA phones and other GSM phones but hey can't hurt to try right!!! Okay I have the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit on MetroPCS and just like yall I was looking for a way to tether to my laptop, but I wasn't successful until right now I don't have internet access at home and the only internet at my home is through my phone so yeah I was looking for a way to tether to my laptop because I really hate tethering via USB. This method should work for both 3g and 4g phones. Thid method I'm using requires only 2 apps whch you can download in the links below. The 1st one is a wifi tether app and the 2nd one is a VPN app. SO LETS BEGIN!!!!************************************************** ******First Step - Make sure you're rooted and than DOWNLOAD these 2 apps in the links below1st app - Wifi-Tether TrevE Mod *
