4.2 jelly bean - How do I separate ringtone and system volume on JB?
Saturday 26th of January 2013
I understand that the Ringtone and Notifications have been linked since (probably about) ICS, but I seem to have managed to link the System sound settings to the Ringtone/Notification volume levels on my Nexus 4.I recently installed a few volume control apps, and I suspect one of them is to blame. I'm almost certain that this didn't used to be the case. I've since removed the suspicious apps, but the volume levels are still linked (I'm using AudioManager to verify the different volume levels). Are Ringtone and System volumes usually separate? How do I unlink these settings?

I need an app to record times and distances for biking and running. I don't need it to calculate anything for me I just need it to save data from my workouts that I will collect from other devices. I just want to be able to view how my times and etc are progressing from workout to workout. Anyone know anything?

[Hands On] ICS Enhanced Ringer Control Is A Ridiculously Simple App To Control Notification And Ringer Volumes Independently In ICS
Monday 06th of February 2012
While I love most everything about my Galaxy Nexus, Google made one ridiculous omission in Android 4.0: they removed the ability to set separate notification and ringer volumes. On my previous phone, Tasker was set up to automatically mute notification tones and turn the ringer volume to three at 11:00 PM as long as the phone was on charge. This way, I wasn’t bothered with constant email notifications throughout the night, but if someone needed to call during the late hours, it would wake me up.With ICS, however, this isn’t possible – the ringer and notification volumes are alw…Continue Reading Here[Hands On] ICS Enhanced Ringer Control Is A Ridiculously Simple App To Control Notification And Ringer Volumes Independently In ICSCameron Summerson – rss.feedsportal
Android Overload: $260 Galaxy Tab 7-inch, Name A Music App To Win $200 And More
Wednesday 25th of May 2011
In this edition of Android Overload we’re helping you save money, and we’re even helping you make money. So don’t say we never gave you anything. The first being the super cheap refurbished Galaxy Tab 7-incher for 0 and the second being the developer of Launcher Pro is giving away 0 to whoever can come up with the best name for his new Zune-esque music player app. The rest of the links we’ve managed to pile up during the day are the stories we just didn’t feel “right” about adding to our front page. Still some useful info though, like the HTC Merge coming to just about every carrier in the US except Verizon. What’s the ho…Continue Reading HereAndroid Overload: $260 Galaxy Tab 7-inch, Name A Music App To Win $200 And MoreChris Chavez – phandroid.com

Any way to link Ringtone and Notification Volume?
Thursday 20th of December 2012
I thought this was working before, but maybe I'm just crazy. But I know it's not working now. I'm on Verizon and got the JB update a week or so ago.I'm just trying to find a way to link the Ringtone and Notification volumes together like it was in past versions of Android on all my other phones.I tried the Quick Settings app and the Volume Control + app. Both give a checkbox to link the two but neither actually does anything. When I move the volume rocker, the ringtone goes up and down but notification don't change at all.I also use an app called Ring Scheduler to set my volume at certain times of the day. That also can only change the ringer volume and not the notifications.I saw a thread about using Tasker, but didn't see a free version and don't really want to pay $7 just to fix this one issue.Any other apps that work to link them, or apps that can schedule them and change both together, or anything like that would be great. Thanks!
