Is it possible to Boot into Safe Mode on an Android Device as a Precautionary Measure If Required?
Monday 03rd of December 2012
Is it possible to Boot into Safe Mode on an Android Device, similar to booting up into safe mode on a Windows PC ?An example being In Windows if you were infected with a virus you may want to immunize it in safe mode ? Is the same scenario likely with the Android OS ?If for example you experience crashing, or freezing or indeed have battery issues ?Perhaps it can be resolved in Safe Mode, if it exists ?It is just something that came to mind and I thought might be worthy of asking !

I know several theories have been brought up( Java, ui threading from the google intern, too much different hardware,) but what do you think Really causes android lag? It reminds me of Windows in early days. What do you think causes it? Google made improvements on it in JB, But its not gone.
Nexus S Android Version 4.0.4. Safe Mode issue - Galaxy Nexus - Android Forum - A Community For Android Users and Enthusiasts
Monday 30th of April 2012
Hi there, I defenitely need seem advice for my safe mode issue with my nexus S, I've got the android version 4.0.4 In the settings I have the possibility to "backup & reset" and in "personal data" I can do a factory data reset and erase all USB Storage. Each time the phone restarts in safe mode again, I've tried everything, removed battery, shut down the phone and restarted with Volume up and restart. I don't seem to get the screen to reboot or recover or whatever. Unfortunately I'm a novice with smartphones. Can anybody help me to restart my phone in normal mode. Even a hard reset is not possible in safe mode, thanks in advance
Safe Mode: what does it do?
Thursday 06th of December 2012
I found out that you can boot into Safe Mode by turning off the phone, turning it back on, and when you see SCH-R720 press and hold Menu (button on the very left) until the phone vibrates (just before full boot up).Safe Mode on Android is said to be like the Windows version of Safe Mode; it disables everything but the drivers and apps needed to boot up.However, when I boot into Safe Mode, I am still able to use 3rd party apps... So my question is, what does Safe Mode do on the Admire?
What does "Safe Mode" mean?
Sunday 24th of March 2013
I opened my S3 this morning and there is a Safe Mode note in lower left hand corner. Also, my 16GB micro SD card dropped off the world yesterday. Any connection? I've re-booted several times this morning, but the Safe Mode note is still there. There is no reference in my Que Book on the S3.

What is Android Debug Mode (ADB)?
Monday 13th of May 2013
The acronym for Android Debug Mode. Whenever your Android device is connected to your computer, ADB is the command line tool that helps your computer communicate with your device. ADB is part of the Android Software Developers Kit (SDK) and is often used in root tools, whether or not you’re typing the commands in yourself. Unless the instructions call for installing the SDK and running ADB commands, you won’t need to mess with it.
What causes Android phones to lag over time?
Friday 21st of February 2014
I'm sure many of us had the experience of owning a phone that started lagging after several months of use. Apps like Chrome and even the launcher would take ages to load. Reflashing the rom seems to solve the problem until it starts lagging again a while later. Any ideas? Some say it's the . Android 4.3 seems to solve this problem as many Nexus 7 first generation owners reported vastly improved performance after they updated to 4.3. Trim support seems to really go a long way with garbage collection. Others say it's the cache that needs clearing over time. Any thoughts? I have a Nexus 4 I bought secondhand and I'd rather that it not face these problems. Hoping I don't run into any lag later down the road as I did with my old LG G2x.
