What's the latest firmware version?
Saturday 08th of October 2011
I got my Sensation with Bell here in Canada a few days ago and have a question- what's the latest released version of Android's software? When I first got the phone it said an upgrade was available and I did an upgrade. I then did a system restore, and it no longer says there's an upgrade. My current version is as follows:Android Version:2.3.3HTC Sense Version:3.0Software Number:1.35.666.1Kernal Version:188.8.131.52-g9cef70dhtc-kernal@and18-2#1SMP PREEMPT Baseband Version:10.50.9007.00U_10.12.9007.21_2MBuild Number:1.35.666.1 CL84734 release-keysBrowser Version:Webkit/533.1Is this the latest software available for the Sensation or is there an update? If so, how do I get it? when I click 'software updates' >> Check now, it says Your phone is up to date.Thanks.

What is my Droid trying to get me to update to?
Friday 03rd of September 2010
About a month ago, I rooted my phone, and upgrade to 2.2 following these instructions:Stock 2.1 to 2.2 Froyo Step By Step installationI used all files and everything found on there. (I never did the "Baseband Update Installation" because my phone already said it was at Baseband C_01.43.01P)Today, my phone keeps popping up and telling me there is an update available. I hit "Install Update", and the phone just restarts to an Android () with an Exclamation Point (which I'm assuming is because I rooted it?)Anyways, what is it trying to get me to update to? I've got 2.2 FRG22, isn't that the latest and greatest? Or what is the newest?

How to upgrade HTC Desire from Android 2.2.2
Sunday 03rd of June 2012
Good morning All,I bought a second hand Desire in mint conditions which comes:- Unlocked,- Branded T-Mobile- Android version: 2.2.2- Baseband version: 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27- Kernel version: 18.104.22.168- Build number: 22.214.171.124- Software number: 126.96.36.199- Browser version: WebKit 3.1I tried to partition my SD Card on this phone by trying to go into Recovery Mode, but when I select Recovery, the phone starts by displaying the pink round circle (T-Mobile!) and then displays a sign with a mobile phone and a red triangle!I wonder what is the best upgrade to have on this phone and how to implement it.One thing I would like to have is Sky Go on the phone which does not seem to be working on rooted phones.I read a lot of FAQ and guides here on this forum, but I am quite lost.It would be very helpful if SUroot or Hadron can provide thir input on my issue. Thanks in advance for your help.
How many apps is...too many apps?
Sunday 22nd of April 2012
This is probably an age old question that many ask themselves since the original droid. Why is my droid acting glitchy and slow and unresponsive? Is there a limit of how many apps android can install and run acceptably? Is there a internal/external limit when things get wonky? (assume stock mem) Does moving apps to SD help or cause more problems with the overall system? Is there a reliable site that says what apps are good to move around? Is there a list of apps that cause problems, or is it worse than that...an unknown infinite combination of apps can cause android to act funny.( this app is fine, this one too, but installed on the same device..uh oh)Is any advice thrown out the window if we are talking baseband and kernels? (roots and roms) If not, assume root stock. Is there a benchmark program perhaps that I can run periodically to see if i am developing a sticky OS? Then maybe I can do some detective work to see what the latest apps installed are causing issues and jump back a nandroid backup or two.Does uninstalling really mean uninstalling or is it like the dreaded windows...lots
Android Forums - View Single Post - Tips ICS... CSC are you eligible for an update?
Thursday 29th of March 2012
There seems to be a lot of confusion surrounding the release of the Ice Cream Sandwich, (ICS), update. So lets see if we can clear a few things up.Please read posts #1 and #2 carefully and thoroughly as they should answer most of your queries. Is my model of phone eligible for ICSThis thread is only for the Samsung Galaxy SII, GT-i9100, GT-i9100M, GT-i9100P, GT-i9100T, GT-i9100G models. To check your model no:-Settings > About phone > Model numberI got my phone from XYZ carrier directly but cannot get the XYZ ICS updateIt doesn't matter where you bought your phone or what sim card you are using. What does matter is the CSC code, (Consumer Software Customisation code). To find your CSC code... go to the dial pad and type in...*#1234#You will then get a screen showing 4 lines of information, thus:-PDA refers to the build version of the firmwarePhone refers to the baseband/modem versionCSC is specific to geographical region and carriers. It contains the software packages specific to that region, carrier branding and also APN settings for data connection, MMS etc for your service pr
Is my new/used phone already rooted?
Wednesday 08th of May 2013
Okay, so I am brand new to the HTC EVO 4G, but not new to rooting (though still would call myself a newbie.) as I have previously rooted 2 different phones (LG Optimus S and Samsung Moment). However, I am beginning to wonder if this EVO was rooted already... bought it off Ebay, definitely not factory wiped or anything. I tried running the Revolutionary tool and got this error message: "Your device, supersonic with HBOOT 2.18.0001 is not supported at this time." etc...In the "about phone" section, it tells me that it is running Android 2.3.5 Baseband 2.15.00.12.19 and Kernel 188.8.131.52I don't recall my other phones having all that info prior to rooting.... But I don't see any kind of custom recovery either.I tried running Titanium Backup, but it fails to find root. Do I just need to install superuser? Is there any danger in installing superuser if the phone isn't actually rooted? What is are the hot keys (or whatever it is called) for rebooting into recovery with this phone? Hold down power and and what? Any thoughts? Thanks!Karen
