Which apps are safe to disable?

Saturday 18th of August 2012 / forums.androidcentral.com
Ok so I'm on a fresh install of ICS on a stock Rezound. I know you can now disable certain apps when selecting "All" in the remove apps section. There's SO much stuff listed in there. Do we need it all? Has anyone made a list of the ones safe to disable?

Apps Safe to Disable and/or Kill on Start-up?

Monday 14th of October 2013 / forums.androidcentral.com
I'm not sure if this has been discussed before, but is there a list of Note 3 pre-installed apps that are safe to disable and/or kill on start-up? I'm sure there are some things that have to run in order for the device to function properly, but there are probably others (like bloatware) where disabling them won't hurt anything and might even help save RAM or something. If anyone can post or point me to a list of which apps can safely be disabled, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Optimize Application Manager

Wednesday 08th of October 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
I bought my 1st smartphone yesterday. It’ll take a while for me to figure it all out. If it helps you, it is a Verizon phone. I want to optimize the Application Manager(AM). My phone comes with a lot of bloatware. I don’t want NFL football, Amazon, internet radio, internet music, etc, running in the background. I want a stripped-down or basic phone. I’ve looked at the AM. I noticed that there are Android icons. I shouldn’t change any of those, right? Can you provide me with a list of apps in the AM that are safe to disable? Or at least guidance on which apps are safe to disable & which aren’t. If I need to do a factory reset, i want a list of apps that I can disable after the reset. I noticed that an app can either be stopped or disabled. What’s the difference? If I power down the phone & then power it back up again, will the stopped/disabled apps be started/enabled again? If that’s the case, what do I need to do to prevent that from happening?

Is it safe to Disable the ANT apps?

Friday 10th of April 2015 / forums.androidcentral.com
I'm in the process of disabling / uninstalling unwanted apps. There are 4 ANT apps (example, ANT Radio Service, which sounds needed) that I'm wondering if I can Disable before I start updating all my apps? Safe to disable or should I leave them alone? Thank you!
