*PLEASE VOTE* Old versions of apps install upon new rom startup

Wednesday 09th of March 2011 / droidforums.net
IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ, PLEASE AT LEAST VOTE ABOVE ON WHETHER OR NOT YOU HAVE THIS ISSUE:THE CIRCUMSTANCE:When flashing a new rom, you have the option to allow google to re-download all the apps that you had installed before wiping the data. It will automatically do this if you log into your account on firstboot and you previously had the "backup my data" option checked under Settings > Privacy in your previous rom.THE PROBLEM:The apps that downloaded and installed automatically are old versions of the apps you had installed for no apparent reason. This makes for a less than "fresh" start as you immediately begin with an outdated set up apps that require updating (some apps spefically tell you to uninstall before installing their new versions which adds another layer of trouble for you).MY SITUATION:I'm attempting to make the transition from rubix 1.9.7 to rubix 2.0.1. My intent is to use the market backup system as I feel it's a cleaner method of reinstalling my apps. My excitement of testing a new great rom has disolved into pure unadulterated rage at the

Will Install Of New Rom Wipe My Settings?

Friday 07th of May 2010 / droidforums.net
Are the actual phone service provider settings separate from the Rom? Can I load any Rom and my service still work as normal? or will the settings for the Talk, Text, MMS and Internet need to be re-entered after loading the new rom?

Problem putting a new ROM on my Droid X

Sunday 08th of May 2011 / droidforums.net
Ok, so I Tried putting a new ROM on my phone and I think I did something wrong. I was using the ROM Manager app from the market to put on a new ROM, the current ROM I had was Darkslide. So I thought everything was going fine but when I got done from flashing the ROM and supposedly putting the new ROM on everything went back to stock but it still seemed to have Darkslide on it. So I went to re download and try again but I noticed a lot of apps had been I guess turned off, one of them being the market. So I don't really know what to do.I want to unroot my phone and just go back to stock to be safe but I don't really know how to do it without using the market.Does anyone know how to unroot a Droid X through a PC or how to get the market back?

Installing a new rom to my tablet

Thursday 20th of March 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
I want to install a new rom to my android tablet. There are necessary instructions and files. One of the files are rockchip batch tool v1.5 and other is a disc image file named rom. It says 1- load the drivers 2-select the img file (rom) in batch tool 3-install it to device by clicking restore. Is this enough or should i delete the rom that is already loaded in my tablet.Like when we format the old OS in computers? My tablet uses android 4.1.1 Thanks in advance.

Installing a New ROM on My Galaxy Tab 2 7.0.

Sunday 09th of November 2014 / forums.androidcentral.com
I'm new to rooting and have never installed a new ROM on a device.I have a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0.I rooted it a couple months agoYesterday I installed ROM Manager and have some questions before I install a new ROM.I went into Download ROM and ROM Manager downloaded something but Ihave no idea where ROM Manager downloaded it to. I have no SD Card atthe moment so it's not on external storage. Where does ROM Manager put downloads?? Also, when I tap 'Download ROM' I'm presented with a list of things thatdon't appear to be ROMs. I get things like: JRummy Apps, CyanogenMod, Cerberus and so on.But none of these gives me any indication that they're are ROMs. Hoping someone can straighten me out on that. So far I've done a recovery setup which is ClockworkMod 6.0.2.3.Yesterday I went into something in ROM Manager where I selected my device but forthe life of me I can't find this now.I did select Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 GT-P3113. So far, is all I need to do prior to installing a new ROM? Any help will be appreciated.,James

Will a new ROM fix my motion sensor and camera issues?

Monday 22nd of June 2015 / forums.androidcentral.com
I have an LG Optimus G that has worked rather well until recently. I've kept rather good care of the phone and am pretty tech-savvy, but my inexperience in the Android world is something I am overcoming now. This is my first smartphone (yes, I was late to the party. :P ) I have always thought about doing a root and flash of a new ROM to get the junkware off and to have higher control over my device. It's out of warranty now, so I'm not worried anymore about breaking things and voiding the warranty. However, there are a few issues with the phone that I hope to fix with a ROM flash. My question is whether or not the following (The first two being the most important) can be fixed with a ROM flash: 1) The motion sensor does not work and as such, screen rotation won't respond to the device turning orientation. I've gone into the system tools and try to do a calibration, but get an error that something's wrong. I haven't fixed this yet as I have not found a solution. 2) This might be related to the motion sensor, but my camera sometimes will not load. There's no error or anything, but it
