ZTE Valet: Can You Post the Pictures and Videos It Takes?
Tuesday 15th of October 2013
I simply cannot afford the monthly contract fees associated with having an iPhone or first-rate Android phone. The ZTE Valet Android phone came out in the last month or two solely for Tracfone, a pay-as-you-go phone company. I am already a Tracfone customer and it sounds like the perfect upgrade for me. I just want to know whether Social Media apps like GifBoom, Vine, Instagram, Foursquare, Twitter and Facebook will really, truly work on this phone and the 3G Verizon network that Tracfone uses. I understand that they may crash sometimes, may be a little slow and that I may be able to have only one app open at a time. I just want to know whether I will be able to post the pictures and videos I take with its camera. Does anyone have any comments or advice for me? Sent from my Nexus 7 using AC Forums mobile app.
ZTE Valet not compatable with square or ringcentral
Saturday 19th of October 2013
I just bought the new ZTE Valet Model Z665C from Straight Talk. Very nice phone and a real upgrade from the Samsung Centrina I had before. I am having trouble running a few common apps in particular Square Register and RingCentral. Both worked great on my Samsung Centrina running OS 4.0 .My new phone ( ZTE Valet Model Z665C with Straight Talk Prepaid/Verizon) is running OS 4.1.1 and has 1 GHz processor. My question is about the Android operating system. If an app works for a particular version, does it matter what the brand or model of the phone? I am trying to figure out if I need to return the phone and buy a Samsung or more common US brand.App problem 1: Square register loads, logs into my account and accepts typed data perfectly. It recognizes when I insert or remove the card scanner. When I scan the card I no response (no failure and no acceptance). I have tried the scanner on other phones and it works perfectly. App problem 2: When I try to log into RingCentral app, instead of it connecting to my account I get an infinite spinning circle with the message Connecting with server.
The Vine App and the ZTE Valet.
Saturday 09th of November 2013
The ZTE Valet (Z665C) Android phone running Jelly Bean 4.1 has been out for 2 to 3 months now, but the Vine app still does not yet support recording video on it. Every other camera-related app that I have downloaded is able to find and use the camera to suit its purposes, with the exception of QR Code and the First Community Credit Union check scanning app. The problem with those apps is not in finding the camera, but in focusing it. Since the ZTE Valet has only a single rear facing camera, it cannot focus clearly on something as close to the lens as a check or a QR code. However, Viddy, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, MapMyWalk, GifBoom and GIF Camera have no problems. What's up with Vine? I'd like to believe that it is just a question of an update and the problem with Vine will be solved. Would that suggest that the developers of the other apps I mentioned were more forward thinking than the Vine developers and sort of pre-updated their apps before the introduction of the ZTE Valet? Or does it suggest that MOST apps don't require an update to deal with a new camera phone

A: Smartphones operate on a sort of spectrum. On one end you could put battery life, on the other end all those options like wifi/3g/sync (among other things). If you want great battery life you can't have those on all the time. If you want those on all the time, you won't get great battery life. It is best to find the compromise that works best for you and what you want most out of your phone. Here are a couple of things that you could consider - adjust the screen brightness, do not use live wallpapers, switch off networks when not in use (WIFI,
ZTE Valet terrible Wifi
Thursday 26th of December 2013
My wife bought me a ZTE Valet for Christmas to replace my LG P506. I read reviews where people complained of poor Wifi but I thought that it was probably just weak router beacons. Nope, it is the ZTE.In places where my LG gets a full set of wifi bars, the ZTE Valet receives 1 or 2 bars. At Starbucks where I sit at the outside table the LG connects just fine but the ZTE Valet can't even find the signal. I like the phone for everything else, it is Jellybean, is responsive but I can't stand a poor wifi signal.I have an old cheap Pandigital laying around that can connect in places the ZTE Valet can not connect. Why would thy have made such a weak Wifi receiver. Bad mistake and this puppy is going back to the store.

My wife bought me a ZTE Valet to replace my LG P506. I like everything on the phone EXCEPT the Wifi. I've been reading articles and apparently the ZTE Valet has Wifi problems. In places where I get full WiFi bars on the LG P506, the ZTE Valet gets 1 maybe two bars. At Starbucks where I sit outside the LG has no problem connecting to Wifi but the ZTE Valet can't even connect to the network.I am wondering -Is this phone defective, shoudl I return itIs this a software issue that can be fixed by ZTEThis much I know, I use WiFi a lot on my phone and I can't use a phone that you must be 15 feet away from the router beacon for it to work.
Transer old Tracfone number to ZTE Valet
Tuesday 18th of March 2014
I would like to transfer my old Tracfone number and the 200 minutes from my old phone to a ZTE Valet I purchased on ebay that is supposed to come with 600 minutes included. I would imagine I would need to activate the ZTE by transfering my old number first THEN the 200 minutes from old phone THEN add the 600 minutes. Is that the correct procedure?Had Tracfone for years and it is a great value BUT its customer service is nearly non existent. I don't want to complicate this and mess everything up making it 10 times harder than it needs to be by not doing the steps in the right order.
ZTE Valet messaging problem
Monday 21st of April 2014
Just switched to Straight Talk on a ZTE Valet. Can send messages to anyone, UNLESS answering a msg that came from an IPhone - then the outgoing msg fails. Found some online tips indicating that an Access Point Name needs to be added/modified on the phone. Now for the prob - I may be crazy, but I can't find the APN list on the ZTE Valet. Should be under Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> More..., but the only thing there is VPN. Any ideas on why I can't find the APN list on the Valet, or any other way to correct the prob responding to an iPhone msg? Any help would be sincerely appreciated!
Wiping a ZTE Valet Android 4.1.1 Phone.
Friday 11th of July 2014
I am selling my Tracfone ZTE Valet Android 4.1.1 phone to a friend. I moved up to a Nexus 5 smartphone with T-Mobile. What do I do to remove my data from the phone? I know that I must go to my Tracfone account and declare the phone inactive. But what about my Google account? What about the apps? I use the same Google account on my Nexus 7 2013 Tablet, my Nexus 7 2012 Tablet, my Nexus 5 smartphone as well as the ZTE Valet Android 4.1.1 phone. So I can't just close the account. What do I do?
